Organizations need to identify which materials and services they purchase that affect the quality of their products the most. Based upon this information, establish criteria for selection and monitoring of the suppliers.
The standard requires suppliers to be evaluated, based on predefined criteria determined by the organization, before selection. The criteria for will depend upon type of product and its effect on other processes and final product. See 8.4.1, 8.4.2 and 8.4.3 for more information:
